Communication Skills Training
Malaysia
Practical communication courses for Malaysian employees, frontliners, and managers: clear instructions, active listening, presentations, emotionally intelligent conversations, negotiation, and customer communication. Every course is delivered in-house by Redefine Learning Asia and structured for an HRD Corp SBL-Khas claim.
In short: Communication skills training in Malaysia is employer-sponsored, facilitator-led practice that improves how staff give instructions, listen, present, handle emotionally charged conversations, and negotiate. Redefine Learning Asia runs seven bookable communication courses of one or two days each, quoted per group, delivered in English, Bahasa Malaysia, or Mandarin, and claimable under HRD Corp SBL-Khas when the grant is approved at least 14 calendar days before training.
Communication Skills Courses in Malaysia
Each course has its own page with a timed agenda, group size, delivery formats, price band, and FAQ. Start from the problem you can see in your team: the "Fixes" line on every card describes it.
Power Communication Strategies
1 DayClarity, listening, and handling the conversation you would rather avoid
Fixes: Instructions get misunderstood, meetings run long, and nobody says the important thing until afterwards.
Group: 15 to 30 participants
Price: Quoted per group; one-day facilitated programmes typically run RM6,000–RM14,000 per group

2 DaysEmotional intelligence applied to difficult workplace conversations
Fixes: Messages get misread, small disagreements escalate, and people avoid the conversation that would fix it.
Group: 15 to 30 participants
Price: Quoted per group; two-day facilitated programmes typically run RM12,000–RM24,000 per group
View Details →Presentation Skills Mastery
1 DayStructure, delivery, and presence for high-stakes workplace presentations

Price: Quoted per group; one-day facilitated programmes typically run RM8,000–RM15,000 per group
View Details →Strategic Communication & Storytelling for Leadership

Price: Quoted per group; typically structured as two facilitated days under a single HRD Corp grant application
View Details →Negotiation & Influencing Skills
1 DayCommercial and internal negotiation practice for managers who concede too fast
Fixes: Discounts get given away in the first five minutes, vendors dictate terms, and internally the loudest voice wins resources regardless of the business case.

Price: Quoted per group; one-day facilitated programmes typically run RM8,000–RM15,000 per group
View Details →Customer Service Excellence

Communication Skills Training for Employees, Frontliners & Managers
A communication course only works when the scenarios match the job. A cashier handling a refund dispute, a supervisor briefing a night shift, and a manager defending a budget to directors need different practice, even though all three would call it "communication".
Employees across departments
The everyday problems: instructions that get misunderstood, meetings that end without a decision, and emails that start a chain of follow-up questions. Training for employees should work on listening, confirming understanding, and saying the important thing during the meeting instead of after it.
Start with: Power Communication Strategies, Connect & Collaborate: Communication Team Building Workshop
Frontliners and customer-facing staff
Frontline communication happens under time pressure and in front of an unhappy customer. Staff need a repeatable sequence for complaints and service recovery, a clear sense of when to escalate, and professional telephone and written responses.
Start with: Customer Service Excellence, Power Communication Strategies
Supervisors and managers
Managers communicate upward, downward, and sideways in the same day. The gaps that cost the most are usually structure (updates that bury the conclusion), influence (winning resources without formal authority), and composure when a conversation turns tense.

Anyone who presents
Sales staff, project leads, and specialists who brief senior people need a message structure that lands inside a couple of minutes, delivery habits that support the message, and a way to handle difficult questions without losing the room.

What Effective Business Communication Training Covers
"Effective communication" is too broad to train in one sitting. We break workplace communication into five skill areas and build each course around one or two of them, so participants spend the day practising rather than listening to theory.
Clarity and active listening
The foundation of workplace communication. Participants learn to confirm that a message was understood instead of assuming it was, to listen by summarising back, and to notice when their body language contradicts what they are saying. Power Communication Strategies is built on this.
Presentation and public speaking
Presentation skills training in Malaysia too often stops at slide design. Our approach is answer-first structure, delivery drilled on camera, and practice with hostile questions, so the improvement is visible within the day. Presentation Skills Mastery covers delivery; Strategic Communication & Storytelling covers how to frame data for leadership.
Emotional intelligence in communication
Emotional intelligence training matters most when the conversation is uncomfortable. Recognising your own trigger, reading another person's style, and staying assertive without becoming aggressive are skills that can be rehearsed. EQ in Communication uses DISC profiling and the PLACE method to do exactly that.
Difficult conversations and conflict
Most workplace conflict starts as an avoided conversation. Courses in this area give participants a structure for raising a problem, de-escalating when an exchange heats up, and repairing the relationship afterwards, practised on situations they bring from their own work.
Written and customer communication
Emails, service replies, and business writing carry a large share of workplace communication and are often the least trained. Customer Service Excellence covers written and telephone responses for service teams, and our catalogue lists dedicated email and business writing courses on request.

How to Choose a Communication Skills Course in Malaysia
Most course brochures list the same topics. These questions show whether a course will change behaviour or simply fill a training day:
- 1.How much of the day is practice? Communication improves through rehearsal and correction. Ask what share of the agenda participants spend speaking, listening, or presenting, and what share they spend watching slides.
- 2.Whose scenarios will be used? A course built on your own complaint cases, department updates, or real negotiations transfers to the job far better than generic case studies. Ask whether the provider will adapt scenarios before the day.
- 3.Is the group size right for the format? Coached conversation practice and on-camera presentation work need smaller groups than a lecture. If a provider offers the same course for any headcount, ask how individual feedback is given.
- 4.Can it run in the language your team works in? Confirm the delivery language for each cohort, especially for frontline teams, before you finalise the grant application.
- 5.How will you know it worked? Agree observable behaviours with the provider up front and check them a few weeks after delivery. A defined outcome also makes your HRD Corp documentation stronger.
- 6.Is the claim paperwork handled? Check the provider is HRD Corp registered and will prepare the outline, attendance records, and completion report, and that the timeline allows the grant to be approved at least 14 days before the course.
Communication Skills Training Cost & HRDF (HRD Corp) Claims
In-house communication training is usually quoted per group rather than per head. The main cost drivers are the number of training days, how many participants the format allows (coached rehearsal and on-camera presentation practice need smaller rooms), whether scenarios are rebuilt around your own material, and the delivery location. Experiential team formats are priced per person instead.

HRDF claim: every course listed above is structured as HRD Corp claimable training under SBL-Khas, with a certified trainer, documented learning outcomes, attendance records, and a completion report for your claim. Under Employer's Circular No. 2/2026 the grant must be approved at least 14 calendar days before the training date, so book three to four weeks ahead.
Training in English, Bahasa Malaysia & Mandarin
Communication habits are shaped by the language people actually work in. A frontline team that serves customers in Bahasa Malaysia will rehearse more naturally in Bahasa Malaysia, while a regional management team may need English for board-level updates.
All seven courses in the grid can be delivered in English, Bahasa Malaysia, or Mandarin. Tell us the language mix of your group at proposal stage.
Delivered Nationwide
We are based in Petaling Jaya and deliver nationwide at your office, a hotel, or a training venue. Several courses also run virtually or in hybrid format. The exact formats for each course are on its page.
