Cloud Servers, OpenAI API &
Fractional CTO (GetCTO) in Malaysia
A modern Malaysian business runs on four things: capable people, AI, IT and servers. We have trained the people for 25 years. Now, in partnership with ITK Asia, we also run the rest — managed cloud servers on AWS, Alibaba Cloud and Huawei Cloud, OpenAI API access billed in Ringgit, and GetCTO, an on-demand Chief Technology Officer — so SMEs can put AI and automation into production without hiring a full technology team.
We deploy, manage and bill on
Technology services from Redefine Learning Asia cover the three things a Malaysian SME needs once its people are trained: managed cloud servers on AWS, Alibaba Cloud or Huawei Cloud to run the tools on, OpenAI API access billed monthly in Ringgit without a foreign credit card, and GetCTO — a senior technologist on retainer to decide what to build and supervise who builds it. Servers and API access are billed monthly in Ringgit with a local invoice; GetCTO runs from a few hours a month to an embedded part-time role. These are technology services, not training — they are not HRD Corp claimable, but the AI, automation and programming training that goes with them is.
People, AI, IT and Servers: The Four Essentials of a Business Today
Employee quality used to be the whole story. It is still the first chapter — a company is only as good as its people, which is why we have trained 500+ organisations over 25 years. But in 2026 three more things have become necessities rather than options: AI in daily work, dependable IT, and servers to run the tools the team now relies on. A business missing any one of the four is carrying a handicap its competitors are not.
We watched the gap open after our own workshops: the team goes back to the office, the automation idea is clear, and then it stalls — no server to host it, no company OpenAI account because the API only takes an overseas card, and nobody senior enough to say which of the ten ideas is worth building first. So we partnered with ITK Asia, a Malaysian technology team, to close it. We deploy on AWS, Alibaba Cloud and Huawei Cloud and provide OpenAI API access, all invoiced locally in Ringgit and supported in English, Malay and Mandarin, scoped for SMEs rather than enterprise contracts.
What changes when the stack is in place:
- 1.An automation built in a workshop goes live on a server the same month instead of dying in a laptop folder
- 2.Teams use the OpenAI API with a company account, a Ringgit invoice and a spending cap — not a personal card and a shared password
- 3.A fractional CTO decides what to build first, so the budget goes to one tool that ships rather than five that do not
- 4.Finance gets one local vendor and one monthly invoice for training and technology together
- 5.Security and backups are handled by the people running the server, not by whoever happens to know Linux
- 6.Everything is scoped for SMEs: start with one server or a few CTO hours, and scale only when there is something to scale
Training + Soft Skills + IT
Each of the three works on its own. Together they compound. A team that is trained in AI, can communicate and lead the change, and has the systems to run it on, moves at a speed a company with only one of the three never reaches. This is what the combination does for a business:
AI and technical skills
HRD Corp claimable AI, automation and programming workshops give the team the ability to build and use tools — not just hear about them.
- Generative AI for daily productivity
- Automation with real company data
- Python, SQL and no-code tooling
How people adopt the change
Technology fails on people, not code. Communication, leadership and change-readiness training is what gets a new tool actually used across departments.
- Managers who can lead a rollout
- Teams that explain and hand over clearly
- Change readiness instead of resistance
Systems that run it
Managed cloud servers, a company OpenAI account billed in Ringgit, and a fractional CTO who owns the architecture — so what the team builds has somewhere reliable to live.
- AWS, Alibaba Cloud or Huawei Cloud
- OpenAI API with a spending cap
- GetCTO roadmap and supervision
Tools that ship, staff who use them, and a leader who keeps it on track
- Faster from idea to live tool — the prototype from a workshop is hosted, secured and in daily use within weeks instead of dying on a laptop.
- Lower technology spend — a CTO who reviews every quote and picks the right cloud stops the pattern of buying five tools and using one.
- Adoption across the company — soft-skills-trained managers roll the change out; the tool is used by the whole team, not the one person who built it.
- One accountable partner — training, servers, API access and CTO hours on one local invoice, with one team that knows your business.
Three example scenarios
Before: quotes take two days; sales keep a personal ChatGPT and paste customer data into it.
- Trainingone-day generative AI workshop for sales and ops.
- Soft skillscommunication and change-readiness session for the two team leads.
- ITcompany OpenAI account with a cap, a quoting assistant hosted on Alibaba Cloud KL, GetCTO picked the stack.
After: quotes drafted in minutes from the company account; customer data stays in-house.
Before: production reports built by hand in Excel every Monday; IT is one overloaded person.
- TrainingPython for data analysis and automation for the planning team.
- Soft skillssupervisory skills for line leaders who will own the new reports.
- ITmanaged server on Huawei Cloud Malaysia for the dashboards; GetCTO supervises the in-house developer.
After: reports refresh automatically; the IT person stops babysitting servers.
Before: owner makes every technology decision alone and has signed two systems that nobody uses.
- TrainingAI for managers and an AI transformation masterclass for the leadership team.
- Soft skillsleadership and negotiation training for the management team.
- ITGetCTO advisory retainer: roadmap, vendor review, AWS migration plan.
After: one roadmap, vendors renegotiated, the next purchase reviewed before signing.
Scenarios are illustrative of how the three services combine; they are not client case studies.

Volume pricing: discounts start at 10% from the third server
Volume discount| Tier | Servers managed | Rate per server | Included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 1–2 servers | List rate | Provisioning, patching, daily backups, monitoring, SSL/DNS. |
| Growth | 3–5 servers | 10% off list | Everything in Starter + a monthly health report and priority support. |
| Scale | 6+ servers | More than 10% off — quoted | Everything in Growth + architecture review each quarter and a named engineer. |
The per-server list rate depends on size and cloud and is confirmed in your written quotation; the 10% volume discount applies from the third server and grows with the fleet. Monthly, no lock-in beyond the current month.
OpenAI API Access, Billed in Ringgit
This is the OpenAI API — the developer platform your own apps, assistants and automations call (GPT models by API key). It is not ChatGPT Plus, Team or Enterprise seats, and not a chat app; those are separate OpenAI products we do not resell.
A company OpenAI API account your finance team can approve: usage billed monthly in MYR on a Malaysian invoice, a spending cap you set, separate keys per team or project, and a usage report by key and model. Works with ChatGPT-style assistants, automations and RAG tools on any of the three clouds.
- Local MYR invoice — no foreign credit card needed
- Monthly spending cap you control
- Separate API keys per team or project
- Usage dashboard by key and model
- Guidance on model choice and cost control
- Works with ChatGPT-style assistants, automation and RAG tools
Account and keys
We open the company account and issue a key per team or project.
Cap and alerts
You set a monthly MYR cap; we alert at 80% and stop at 100% unless you raise it.
Use it
Assistants, automations, RAG tools — on your server or ours, on any cloud.
One MYR invoice
Monthly usage report by key and model, billed in Ringgit on a Malaysian invoice.
Volume pricing: the more tokens you use, the lower the service margin
Volume discount| Tier | Monthly API usage | Service margin | Included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Low monthly usage | Standard margin | Company account, keys per team, cap and alerts, usage report. |
| Growth | Medium monthly usage | Reduced margin | Everything in Starter + model and cost-control guidance. |
| Scale | High monthly usage | Lowest margin | Everything in Growth + dedicated technical contact and quarterly usage review. |
Usage is billed at the published OpenAI rate plus the tier's service margin, converted to MYR. Bands are indicative and confirmed in your quotation. You set the monthly cap; we alert you at 80%.
GetCTO: A Fractional CTO for Malaysian SMEs
Most SMEs in Malaysia cannot justify a full-time Chief Technology Officer, yet every month they make CTO-level decisions — which system to buy, which vendor to trust, whether an AI tool is safe to roll out, what to do about the server that keeps falling over. GetCTO puts an experienced CTO on your side on a monthly retainer: part-time, senior, and accountable for the technology roadmap, not just the tickets.
Technology roadmap
A 12-month plan that says what to build, buy or retire, in what order, and why — written for the owner, not for engineers.
Vendor and quotation review
Every software, cloud or development quote checked before you sign: scope, lock-in, real total cost, and whether it is the right tool at all.
Architecture and security
How your systems, data, servers and AI tools fit together — and the backup, access and security basics that keep an SME out of trouble.
Supervising the builders
Weekly direction and code or delivery review for your in-house developer, freelancer or outsourced team, so the work matches the plan.
AI adoption plan
Which processes to automate first, which AI tools are safe with your data, and how the training we deliver turns into tools that run.
Board-level reporting
A monthly one-page technology report for the owner or board: what shipped, what it cost, what is at risk, what is next.
Engagement models
- Advisory — a few hours a month — roadmap, vendor review and a standing call for decisions as they come up.
- Embedded — one to two days a week — the CTO joins your management meetings and runs the technology function alongside your team.
- Project — a fixed block of hours to lead one initiative end to end — a system migration, an AI rollout, a new platform build.
Your first 90 days with GetCTO
- 1Days 1–30: audit — inventory of systems, contracts, servers, data and risks; interviews with the owner and key staff; a written findings report.
- 2Days 31–60: roadmap — the 12-month technology plan with costs, sequencing and the first quick wins already in motion.
- 3Days 61–90: execution rhythm — vendors engaged, builders supervised, the monthly report running — and the first measurable improvement delivered.
How Pricing Works
Servers are a fixed monthly fee per server, sized to your workload, with backups and monitoring included — and the per-server rate drops as you add servers (see the tiers above). OpenAI API access is billed on actual usage in Ringgit at the published OpenAI rate plus a service margin that falls as your monthly usage grows, with a cap you set so a runaway script cannot run up a bill. GetCTO is a retainer: a fixed number of hours per month at a fixed rate, with no lock-in beyond the current month.
Because every business is different, we quote rather than publish a rate card. Send us your use case and we (with ITK Asia) will reply with a written quotation — the same document you would use for internal approval — within two working days.
Servers
Fixed monthly fee per server, sized at onboarding; 10% off from the third server, more from the sixth. Includes backups, monitoring and patching. Upgrade or cancel at month end.
OpenAI API
Pay for what you use, in Ringgit, at the published OpenAI rate plus a service margin that reduces with volume. You set the monthly cap.
GetCTO
Monthly retainer for an agreed number of hours. Unused hours do not roll over; the engagement can stop at any month end.
Who This Is For
SME Owners
You know what you want technology to do for the business but not who to trust to build it. GetCTO is the senior second opinion.
Teams After AI Training
You finished an AI or automation workshop with a working prototype and need somewhere to run it and an API account to run it on.
Finance & Procurement
You need a Malaysian vendor, a Ringgit invoice and a spending cap before you can sign off on any AI usage.
Small IT Teams
One or two people who would rather build than babysit servers, patch operating systems and manage backups.
Training + Technology: The Combined Path
Most clients start with an HRD Corp claimable AI or automation workshop, then switch the technology services on when the team has a real tool to ship. The sequence that works:
- 1Train — An HRD Corp claimable AI, automation or programming workshop gives the team the skill and a prototype.
- 2Decide — GetCTO reviews the prototypes and picks the one with a real business case — and the cheapest way to build it.
- 3Provision — A managed server and a company OpenAI API account are set up with keys, caps and backups in place.
- 4Ship and support — The tool goes live; monitoring, patching and API usage reporting continue monthly, with CTO hours available as the next idea comes up.
