Time Management Training Malaysia: Time Management & Personal Productivity

Prioritisation and focus systems for teams drowning in meetings and messages

Time Management & Personal Productivity is a one-day soft skills programme teaching participants to prioritise by impact, protect focused work time, and control the meeting and message load that fragments the working day. Redefine Learning Asia delivers it against each participant’s real calendar and task list — the audit, the redesign, and the weekly planning system are all built on the participant’s actual workload, not a hypothetical one.

When This Programme Is the Right One

The symptom: Everyone is busy, deadlines still slip, the same urgent-but-unimportant work eats every week, and deep work happens after office hours if at all.

Start from the symptom your team is showing rather than the programme name — buying in the wrong order usually convinces leadership that training does not work. Compare every programme side by side in our symptom-to-programme comparison table.

Learning Outcomes

  • Participants audit a real week of their calendar and identify the hours lost to low-impact work.
  • Every participant leaves with a redesigned weekly template including protected deep-work blocks.
  • Requests are triaged with a practised decision rule — do, schedule, delegate, or decline with a script.
  • Teams agree shared norms on meetings and response-time expectations that make individual systems survivable.

Programme Agenda

TimeModuleWhat Happens
9.00am – 10.30amThe calendar auditParticipants classify every hour of their previous real week by impact. The totals are usually the wake-up call of the day.
10.45am – 12.00pmPrioritising by impactImpact-versus-urgency triage applied to the participant’s live task list, with the courage-to-decline scripts that make it stick.
12.00pm – 1.00pmDeep work designProtecting focus blocks, batching shallow work, and taming notification load — configured on participants’ own devices in the room.
2.00pm – 3.30pmThe meeting problemWhich meetings to kill, shorten, or decline; agenda discipline; and the async alternatives that replace status meetings.
3.45pm – 5.00pmThe weekly operating systemEach participant builds their weekly planning ritual and next week’s actual calendar, reviewed by the facilitator before close.

Activities

Real calendar audit

Last week’s actual calendar, classified hour by hour — the data that makes the problem undeniable.

Decline scripts

Rehearsed wording for saying no upward, sideways, and to customers without damaging the relationship.

Device detox setup

Notification and inbox configuration done live on participants’ own phones and laptops, not described in a slide.

Next-week build

The programme ends with next week’s real calendar rebuilt — the first week of the new system is planned before participants leave.

Time Management & Personal Productivity FAQs

It draws on several — impact triage, time-blocking, batching, and weekly review — but the deliverable is each participant’s own operating system built on their real calendar, not adherence to one branded method. The method that survives is the one that fits the participant’s actual role.
Yes — the afternoon module is explicitly about shared norms. Individual systems fail inside a broken meeting culture, so the programme has the team agree meeting and response-time norms together, with the sponsor in the room for that module where possible.
Senior cohorts run the same structure with different emphasis — more on delegation, decline scripts, and meeting load, less on personal task capture. Mixed-seniority cohorts work but same-level cohorts speak more freely about where the time actually goes.
Participants repeat the calendar audit four weeks after delivery and compare hours of deep work and meeting load against the baseline week. The before-and-after audit is reported to the sponsor alongside the standard Kirkpatrick measures.
Quoted per group; one-day facilitated programmes typically run RM8,000–RM14,000 per group. The final quote depends on group size, venue, and how much the content is customised, and eligible employers can claim it under HRD Corp SBL-Khas.
